Terms of Service
Effective Date: June 1, 2026 | Last Updated: May 31, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service govern your use of the Quenex platform. By accessing or using Quenex, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the platform.
2. Description of Service
Quenex provides a web-based platform for creating and managing events, publishing event information, registering participants, managing attendance records, and communicating with attendees. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features at any time with reasonable notice.
3. Eligibility and Account Security
To use Quenex, you must be at least eighteen years old to register an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your account.
4. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree not to use the platform for any unlawful purpose. You may not upload, post, or transmit any malicious code, viruses, or harmful content. You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to the platform or its systems. You may not interfere with the security, integrity, or performance of the platform. You may not submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information. You may not impersonate another person or entity. You may not use the platform to send spam, harass others, or promote violence. Violation of this policy may result in immediate account suspension or termination.
5. Event Organizer Responsibilities
As an event organizer, you are solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and completeness of your event information. You must comply with all applicable laws and obtain any necessary permits for your event. You are responsible for handling all attendee communications, including refunds and dispute resolution. You are also responsible for delivering the event as described.
6. Attendee Responsibilities
As an attendee, you are responsible for providing accurate registration information. You must comply with the rules and instructions of the event organizer. You are also responsible for ensuring you have the necessary permissions to attend the event.
7. Fees, Payments, and Electronic Transactions
Quenex may introduce paid features or subscription fees in the future. Any fees will be clearly disclosed before purchase. Payments are processed through third-party payment gateways such as mobile money providers. We do not store your primary account details, such as your mobile money PIN. Electronic transactions conducted through the platform are considered valid and enforceable under the Electronic Transactions Act, 2011 of Uganda.
8. Refund and Cancellation Policy for Paid Events
This policy applies to disputes between attendees and event organizers.
For free events, attendees may cancel their registrations at any time before the event begins.
For paid events where the attendee cancels at least seven days before the event start date, the attendee may be eligible for a full refund less any non-refundable processing fees. Where the attendee cancels three to six days before the event, the attendee may be eligible for a partial refund of up to fifty percent. Cancellations made less than seventy-two hours before the event are generally non-refundable. Failure to attend an event without prior cancellation is also non-refundable.
If an event is cancelled by the organizer, attendees are generally entitled to a full refund of the ticket price. If an event is rescheduled by the organizer, the attendee may choose to attend the rescheduled event or request a full refund within a period specified by the organizer.
Event organizers may set their own refund and cancellation terms, provided they are clearly disclosed during registration. Where organizer-specific policies conflict with this policy, the organizer's disclosed policy will apply.
Approved refunds are typically processed within seven to fourteen business days. Payment processing fees, taxes, and third-party charges may be non-refundable.
Refund disputes should first be raised with the event organizer. Quenex may assist in resolving disputes but is not liable for an organizer's refusal to issue a refund.
9. Intellectual Property
All Quenex software, logos, branding, and platform content are owned by Quenex Technologies Limited or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, or reverse-engineer our platform without permission.
You retain ownership of content you submit, such as event descriptions and images. However, you grant Quenex a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, and display your content for the purpose of operating the platform.
10. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately without notice for violation of these Terms, fraudulent or abusive activity, security risks to the platform, or extended inactivity as defined by our internal policies. You may stop using the platform and delete your account at any time.
11. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Quenex platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We are not responsible for the conduct of any event organizer or attendee, nor for the actual occurrence or quality of any listed event.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by the laws of Uganda, Quenex and its owners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the platform shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the preceding twelve months, or Ugandan shillings one hundred thousand if no fees were paid. This limitation does not apply to liability for death, personal injury, or fraud.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Quenex Technologies Limited and its owners from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your content or event data, your violation of these Terms, or your misuse of the platform.
14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Uganda.
Any dispute arising from these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within thirty days, either party may submit the dispute to mediation or arbitration in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 2000, of Uganda. The seat of arbitration shall be Arua City or Kampala, Uganda. Either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief from the courts of Uganda.
15. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last Updated" date will be revised accordingly. Continued use of the platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
